i've been a little hesitant to use this moleskine somehow,
and left it hanging there up until that last page this january.

after i finished my leuchtturm sketchbook last week,
and while using a new landscape format sketchbook (coming soon)
i picked it up again - here are some pages from this past week :

miniature paintings, so more sketchbook pages coming soon!

sorry about posting so many sketchbook pages - this year just has been a great
year for that for many reasons.

now i've moved on to new sketchbooks.
sketching in my old moleskine from a year ago
that intimidated me a bit, and a larger moleskine,
and a small land-scape format hand•book brand one as well.
i'm going sketch crazy!!

i've added a lot more color (with these) in the past month or so,
which i'm enjoying, but i may pare down to simple b/w again.

new sketchbook

Leuchtturm 2010 no. 2
i've been sketching in sporadic consistency (if that makes sense) in my 2nd leuchtturm sketchbook.
the leuchtturms consist of thinner pages than moleskines,
which, for me, is better for sketching/drawing sans any paint.
there's something i like about the tactility and translucency...

unfortunately the second one i bought has some kind of coating
on the paper, so it doesn't absorb the ink like the old one. :/

if these seem redundant, that's because my thoughts have been overlapping lately.

Sketchbook - last pages of the book

finished my sketchbook (right) today and started a new one!

i've been near-obsessively drawing in my sketchbook
whenever i get a chance, and it's becoming more of a journal-like
brain-purge of a book now...

so i'm a little more nervous & hesitant to share,
though i decided to be braver.

please handle (eye) these with care, if you will,
as my heart is worn upon my sleeve as i share these :

sketchbook dump 2

some more sketchbook pages i've been filling since my last sketch post.

i've been addicted to filling my sketchbook lately.
just as well, since one of my goals this year was
to draw every day in my sketchbooks to experiment
& loosen up as much as possible.

ballpoint & brush pen.

i feel like i'm starting to loosen up a bit.
can't wait to go craazzzzy!

+ these (and the last ones) are from my leuchtturm sketchbook,
i'll post a few new pages from my moleskine (more paint laden) soon.

sketchbook pages

some sketchbook pages from last month that i only got around to putting together today...
drawn with my favorite brush pen that i got as a birthday present last year.

+ more updates on my twitter...

(i've been trying to make more frequent photo updates on twitter.
hopefully it will help document my processes (albeit random) at least for my own purposes.)

moleskinny

a while ago, i got a small moleskine sketchbook for the first time.
the thick papers that don't let mediums permeate,
spreads that fall completely flat for better drawing and scanning...
nice! i understand the popularity now.

my other usual sketchbook is from muji and is very see through,
which can be nice too, but limits the mediums i can experiment with.
i look forward to getting a bigger moleskine and painting away.

below are some pages from the past few weeks in between painting.
(i've been very into black & blue.)

PS: also, i unlocked my twitter.

[edit : sketches done mostly with ballpoint pen, colored pencil & ink.]
